Constructed in an era devoid of modern heating and air conditioning, their thick walls offered insulation against heat and cold. In contemporary times, these trulli, often grouped in clusters, are frequently marketed as vacation homes, offering a truly unique dwelling experience.
Masserias are also quite special. A masseria is typically a large, old farmhouse, frequently enclosed by walls and surrounded by vineyards or olive groves. These days, many of these estates have been transformed into boutique hotels or are used for tourism purposes. They are also available as second homes, providing ample space and privacy. The trulli and masserias, along with modern villas, economical village homes, and beachfront apartments, contribute to Puglia's diverse and intriguing real estate market.
