Casa Fenice, made of two beautiful restored buildings, is located in the village of Santa Maria d’Alto Cielo with spectacular views towards the medieval town of San Ginesio with its church towers and across the undulating hills and valleys towards the Sibillini Mountains.
Once farmhouses, the two buildings have been carefully restored to a high standard using as many of the original materials as possible. The houses are set amongst rolling arable farmland.
The main building is divided into two totally independent self-catering apartments. On the first floor is the smaller apartment and on the ground floor the larger apartment. This first floor apartment is reached via a partially covered outdoor staircase. The apartment has attractive beamed ceilings and exposed beams throughout. The entrance takes you into the open space kitchen/living room. On this floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom. Leading from dining/lounge area there is a balcony where you can dine “al fresco” with stunning views across the valleys towards the Sibillini Mountains.
The ground floor apartment is reached via its own loggia and terrace. The entrance takes you into the kitchen and dining area. There is also a living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has its own loggia which offer needed shade in the summer months and overlooks the swimming pool.
The second building is a the single-storey apartment which is accessed via glazed main door that takes you into an open-plan lounge/diner/kitchen area. The lounge has two glazed double doors opening onto a patio and provide a panoramic view of the countryside, the hilltop town of San Ginesio and the Sibillini Mountains in the distance. This area has a ceiling fan and wood-burning stove. A low-level wall partly divides the lounge from the kitchen area.
The fully fitted kitchen contains a sink and draining board, gas hob with electric fan oven, built in microwave oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and ample cupboard storage space.
A small lobby with built-in cupboards gives access to a single bedroom with ceiling fan, a double bedroom with ceiling fan, built-in wardrobe with drawers and a shower-room containing WC, sink and tiled shower area.
The apartment has gas-heated radiators, mosquito nets and adjustable wood-effect shutters.
An adjoining cantina contains a large sink with a cupboard below and plumbing for a washing-machine.
There is ample outdoor space, and there is also a large roof terrace which has an incorporated giant chequers board with a giant Chess set. From here you can enjoy the majestic views over the countryside and on a clear night, you can admire and study the night sky.
There is a swimming pool of 9x4 m surrounded by a terrace from which you can again admire the views, soak up the sunshine and watch the world go by in total relaxation.
The complex is 10 minutes from the medieval town of San Ginesio and 15 minutes from Tolentino. The airport of Ancona is a one-hour drive.
The Adriatic coast and the lively seaside town of Civitanova can be reached in 40 minutes.
