Het vestingstadje Moregnano ,met grote waarschijnlijkheid van Romeinse oorsprong, gezien de veelvuldige archeologische vonden, werd voor het eerst op perkamenten genoemd in de XI eeuw als in het bezit van de bisschop Ugone uit Fermo en is meer dan 800 jaar oud en geheel gaaf bewaard gebleven.
In het nabijgelegen Petritoli zijn restaurants, hotels, winkels, een theater (Teatro dell'Iride) en markten. De culturele agenda is goed gevuld het hele jaar door (zie voor informatie www.moregnano.it en www.petritoli.net). In de omgeving liggen pareltjes van kustplaatsen als Porto San Giorgio, Pedaso, Cupra Marittima, Grottammare, Porto d'Ascoli maar ook San Benedetto del Tronto met 45.000 inwoners. Ten noorden van Moregnano liggen de cultuursteden Macerata en Ancona (ca. 90km) en andere aantrekkelijke centra zoals Fermo, Cingoli, Loreto, Jesi en Osimo. Meer zuidelijk ligt de provinciehoofdstad Ascoli Piceno Ligging Lange tijd werd de Marche geteisterd door elkaar bestrijdende vorsten en roversbenden. Om zich te kunnen verdedigen werden daarom de stadjes en dorpen uitsluitend op de heuveltoppen gebouwd. Ook het lieflijke Moregnano ligt boven op zo’n heuvel en is nog vrijwel geheel omringd met stadsmuren.
Casa Mura di Cinta is het laatste huis in en op de eeuwenoude vesting van Moregnano aan de rustige zuidoostzijde. Vanaf het huis loopt de heuvel aan 3 zijden af, waardoor er rondom een panoramisch uitzicht mogelijk is op heuvels, stadjes daar bovenop, bergen en de Adriatische zee. Het huis heeft aan 3 zijden blijvend vrij uitzicht en ligt ook door afwezigheid van verkeer bijzonder rustig. Moregnano is qua voorzieningsniveau afhankelijk van het nabije Petritoli (2 Km) en is zomer en winter goed bereikbaar. Casa Mura di Cinta is nooit eerder gerestaureerd, is geheel authentiek maar verkeert in matige staat van onderhoud.
