Santa Maria al Bagno

Location - Santa Maria al Bagno is part of the municipality of Nardò in the province of Lecce. It is located about 7 kilometers from Nardò and Galatone and has about 950 inhabitants. During the summer period it is mainly inhabited by residents from Galatone, Nardò and Galatina, as well as numerous tourists.

The villa – The villa has been completely rebuilt and is located in Santa Maria al Bagno, at an altitude of 60 meters above sea level. The villa has a large terrace of approximately 100 m² and a terrace on the first floor of approximately 60 m². The location is quiet and offers a breathtaking view of a rich olive grove. At the entrance of the villa there is a suggestive fountain where you can enjoy the outdoor lighting during the evening hours. The staircase is made of marble and has a balustrade: the living room is large and light, with large windows with triple glazing. The open kitchen is connected to a spacious dining room, fully furnished and equipped with all electrical appliances. Upstairs there are three large bedrooms with access to the terrace and views of the olive trees, some also offer sea views. The rooms are air-conditioned and pellet stoves are used for heating. At the back of the villa there is a large terrace where there is a bathroom and a room. The entrance to the garage is spacious. The villa is finished with stone exterior walls and has a well-maintained garden. On the roof of the villa there are 21 solar collectors for autonomous supply. The area is beautiful and quiet, just a 10-minute walk from the sea. In the area there are excellent restaurants with sea views and small shops.

History – Santa Maria al Bagno is a tourist resort in Salento belonging to the municipality of Nardò, thus located on the Ionian coast between Gallipoli and Santa Caterina: from the latter it is separated by a small headland known as Punta dell'Aspide. It owes its name to the beautiful tower that was part of the defense system built by Charles V in the 16th century. Over time, Santa Maria al Bagno has been enriched with noble buildings, villas and a charming promenade lined with palm trees and has become one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the Ionian Sea. The coastline is characterized by very low coasts, partly rocky and interspersed with sandy beaches, the main attraction for families with children. All along the coast there are beach clubs and beaches that are well equipped to spend the whole day by the sea.
